We welcome back Ruth Fitton as she joins East Oaks Studio for another 3-day workshop exploring expressive portrait painting!
The course will focus on the creation of a fully developed portrait from life, beginning from a strong narrative composition, through to refining a precise likeness. We will study the use of colour mixing and edge-work to create an exciting illusion of form, and brushwork as a means of portraying character.
Sessions consist of a short lecture followed by a painting demo, in which Ruth explains fundamental concepts and demonstrate how to apply them.
